I know I've mentioned this before, but this is how people used to vacation after roadside tenting became
dangerous but before they had invented Holiday Inns. What I really love about these places, aside from
the nostalgia for an area two generations before I was born,
is the signage. Someone should make a picture
book of the roadside signage. Not the businesses, just the signage. A lot of the buildings were
cookie-cutter, root beer stands with the slanted roof, service window out front, and wooden supports.
And what are you going to do with a cabin? But the trout says it all.
