I cannot honestly say that I know which came first. My guess is that it started out as a post office,
and then the postal workers found they were just sitting around drinking coffee all day as it was, so
they bought the place out and figured that all that Ft. Collins - Laramie traffic would keep them in
the black. The next day, the plans for I-25 a I-80 came out. Virginia Dale is one of those towns that doesn't really exist except on a map. Some of them are railroad sidings, some of them ghost towns, some of them historic churches. Virginia Dale is the last of these. There are no houses, not even remnants of the foundations of houses. Just a coffee shop, a well-maintained historic church with its own roadside marker, and views of this. |
