| Out in the little plains town of Wray, they remember. Every day. This is the front window of Wray Lumber. The names are those of residents, friends, and relatives of residents, who are on active duty. The stars, thankfully, don't mean what you think; those are the people actually in theater. The man in the store told me that the sign hadn't been updated in a little while, and I guess as this thing drags on, it'll be easier to let it go. Still, even given the degrees of separation, and the presence of Ft. Carson and the AFA in the state, that's a pretty impressive list for little Wray. Gives you a sense of how much of the country has been directly touched by this thing. |
