An interesting piece of engineering. There's this barrier to travel called Comb Ridge, impassable until that notch in the wall you see was built. People had to detour for about a hundred miles to get around it, which was nice for the Comanches and Apaches, and a major travel hazard for everyone else. There are still four-wheel drive trails below and above it for its length.
