There's a story that Brigham Young, as he was leading the Mormans along I-80, got to the future site of I-80, and said, "this is it." And people who've never actually been to Utah wonder what he saw in the middle of the desert that made him want to stop, especially before Stuckey's.
Here's why. Northern Utah, especially the mountain part of the state, is not some godforsaken moonscape where you have to evaporate and recollect the salt water in order to have anything to drink. It's actually pretty nice.
Nice enough that when I got to Logan, I said, "this is it (for the night)."
