West Butte at Sunrise

I had wanted to catch the Buttes from the east at sunrise, but that's very difficult. The East Butte is almost all on private land without trails, and you want to try to avoid traipsing across some rancher's feed grass if you can. The guy's got the privilege of owning a national landmark, but it's not like he's charging 25 cents to look through binoculars at them. Instead, I settled for this shot from the west, just as the sun peeked up over the horizon. (Or as Kerry would say, "the sunrise came up.") Sometimes, it's good to be late.
